EARLY RARE STANGL BLUEBIRD #3276 |

| This early Bluebird with the hollow bottom was produced
by the Stangl Pottery Company in 1939 only. It was restyled in 1940 and
the restyled version continued in production until 1978. (See
Rob Runge's "Collector's Encyclopedia of Artware, Lamps, and
Birds" on page 96 and 99 for a discussion of this bird.) As
Rob Runge states on page 94 "Early
versions of birds that originally had "hollow bottoms," such
as the ...#3276 Bluebird, are now often found with no markings, or just
the decorator's initials." So,
66 years ago this little fellow was made and he looks like he just came
out of the mold. No chips, cracks or repairs. (Item
