| Eric and Walter Gort formed the
Gort Pottery Company in the mid 1940's. They went out of business in the
mid 1950's. They produced high quality, bone china animals, birds,
figurines and some dinner ware. Unfortunately, inexpensive imports caused
their demise. However, a growing number of collectors are seeking their
products. This Irish Setter is first rate. He's in mint condition. The
inscription on his belly reads "Gort U.S.A. Bone China, 103-D" followed by
the initial "M." "M," one must assume, is the artist decorator.
