WELLER MUSKOTA GARDEN WARE FISHER BOY If a "10" equals
the rarest of the rare this young man is a "9¾." He is a
survivor
of the teens, 20's and 1930's so it is remarkable that he is in such excellent
condition.
However, what makes this Fisher Boy extra special is that the Weller
designers prepared him as a possible lamp. That patch of grass he's
leaning against contains a hole for just such a purpose. Should one happen onto
another Fisher Boy, and one's chances are slim, chances are that "hole in
the grass" would not exist. As figurines go this young man is tall at
21½." In the teens, 20's
and '30's he would be found in someone's outdoor garden. Not so today.
Today he belongs in a glass case. Nice mold; nice color and
extremely scarce.
